It will allow you to record and play a short clip to confirm your voice quality before speaking.
It’s every social anxiety sufferer’s nightmare; you attend a town hall meeting, turn on the microphone when it’s your turn to speak, and begin your well-planned speech. Suddenly, the chat is flooded with messages that your microphone is too quiet or too loud, or maybe you’re underwater for some reason. Now you need to fix this before saving your conversation.
Well, Microsoft Teams is finally getting a feature that apps like Zoom have had for years. Before joining a call, you’ll be able to listen to your microphone to make sure everything sounds great before you see anyone.
Microsoft Teams is finally getting microphone verification
Although it will not come out a bit
The Redmond giant is running a Microsoft 365 Roadmap to keep everyone up to date on what it has planned. It keeps tabs on what the company is working on and informs both users and system administrators about what to expect in the future.
Microsoft today added a feature to the roadmap To be honest, I was a little surprised that it took so long to add:
Microsoft Teams: Check your microphone before joining
On your pre-join screen, you can test your microphone and speaker to make sure others can hear you clearly before joining the meeting. Check Microphone and speaker to record a short audio clip and play it back. This helps confirm that the correct devices are selected and that you will be heard and so will others once the meeting begins.
You won’t be able to see this new feature just yet, as Microsoft plans to launch it in May 2026. However, it shouldn’t be long before you finally give yourself an audio test before heading to that important meeting.
