There is currently a robust ecosystem of find my accessories on the market across a variety of designs and form factors. Here are some of the most popular options.

As an improvement, Find My Accessories broadcasts a low-energy Bluetooth signal that is picked up by nearby Apple devices. They do not rely on GPS technology.

Instead, that location is transmitted securely and anonymously to the Find My Network. This means that if someone with an Apple device is nearby, even if you’re miles away, it’s possible to find the item you’ve activated Find My for.

Apple is constantly introducing new features find my networkfor example, a new system for sharing item locations.

AirTag 2

AirTag Firmware update

You can’t get a list of the best Tap My accessories without including Apple’s AirTags, especially now with the AirTag 2. Apple announced the AirTag 2 earlier this year, featuring Apple’s second-generation Ultra Broadband chip.

AirTag 2 offers several updates:

  • Accurate Find now works 1.5 times farther than AirTag 1.
  • An improved Bluetooth chip that extends the detected range.
  • The speaker is 50% louder than the original.

AirTags are not without their drawbacks, as they only come in one form factor, have no built-in attachment mechanism, and are around four years old. Still, they represent the best way to get started in the Find My ecosystem.

Chipolo’s Find My ecosystem

While Apple’s AirTag is available in a single form factor, Chipolo makes several different trackers that fit perfectly into Apple’s Find My ecosystem. This means you can add them to the My Find app and track them alongside Apple products.

They can also access the My Find ecosystem of Apple devices and AirTag to share up-to-date location information.

SwitchBot Wallet Finder

my colleague Benjamin Mayo reviewed SwitchBot has launched Wallet Finder, describing it as “an incredibly useful accessory for tracking your wallet” using your iPhone and the Find My ecosystem. In addition to being shaped like a credit card to slip into your wallet, they all have a built-in key holder. This makes it easy to attach to something like a lanyard or backpack.

Pebblebee’s Find My Ecosystem

Another popular brand of Find My accessories is Pebblebee.

Pebblebee clip The AirTag is a small tracker with a similar form factor but with a built-in key fob. It has up to 12 months of battery life and can then be recharged using a USB-C cable.

Finally, there is Pebblebee Tracker Universal Tag With Tap My integration. It offers an ultra-small form factor with up to 8 months of battery life and a USB-C port for charging.

Backpacks with Find My

While I generally recommend buying a standalone Find My tracker, there are backpacks on the market that integrate Find My directly. Currently, the main offering on the market comes from Swissdigital.

Twelve Southern PlugBugs

If you’re a traveler, Twelve South has one of the more interesting applications of Find My that I’ve seen. The Twelve Southern PlugBugs It’s a USB-C fast charging brick that integrates with Find My. This means you will never lose your charger again. It has become a staple in my backpack.

Nomad Find My Tracking Card Pro

Nomad is new Find My Tracking Card Pro It features an ultra-premium metal design that really looks like a credit card. Is it excessive? Yes. Do I think it looks incredibly cool? Also yes.

It features full Tap My integration, so you’ll never have to worry about losing or misplacing your wallet. Nomad card designed to slip into your wallet and hide among your other cards.

The Tracking Card Pro charges wirelessly on any Qi or MagSafe charger and lasts up to 16 months on a single charge.

Nomad also sells the Trace Card Carbide, which is less impressive in terms of design, but cheaper. It also charges wirelessly.
