Last week, io9 was among a group of journalists shown the first 18 minutes The Mandalorian and Grogu, and you can read about it HERE/THEN/TK. The first is action packed and a lot of fun, but then comes the opening credits, which is something new in itself. Star Wars. no Star Wars the movie never did. In these credits, we saw what we believe to be a big clue as for what the rest of the movie entails.
The in loans The Mandalorian and GroguPedro Pascal is of course first in line, playing over footage of Mando, Grogu and Zeb arriving at the New Republic base in Adelphi. His stunt men and the mandalorian assistants, Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder, then the third and fourth. But the second person is not someone else Jeremy Allen White, Whose voices are swollen Hutt, Rotta.
In the film’s opening scenes, we learn that the film revolves around Mandon trying to rescue Rotta from captivity in order to get information from the Hutts about a key New Republic target named Coyne. And from the trailers, We know Rotta is involved a kind of combat event. But if Allen White is considered second, Rotta can continue the adventure The Mandalorian and Grogu?
Of course, we don’t know for sure. But it’s an interesting possibility. I’ve been trying to find something about this movie that stands out for months. Something to justify its presence in theaters, not Disney+. Mando and Grog potentially teaming up with the Hutt is certainly that. We haven’t seen a ton of Hutts Star Wars and I’ve never watched one, at least not in live action, for any significant amount of time. Mainly because it’s just logistically very, very difficult.
But in the Los Angeles studios where Jon Favreau and his team shot most of the film, it’s not just Rotta head statues and props; They have a live mini-Rotta, as it were The Clone Wars. Check out these pictures
Basically, it seems very likely that Rotta the Hutt will play a bigger role in this movie than we expect, which could be pretty cool. But perhaps this is an argument against the opening of loans Star Wars. Do we really want or need to know who is coming?
The Mandalorian and Grogu It opens on May 22nd, with more coming soon.
