Infiniti hopes it marks a major turning point in its US ambitions. High-end Nissan brand has started its 2027 collection QX65 luxury SUV At the Smyrna, Tennessee plant, he is given a key role in introducing an important new model.
According to Eric Ledieu, vice president of Infiniti Americas, the start of production helps Infiniti’s product renaissance and reinforces the company’s confidence in US manufacturing. Ledieu also noted the QX65’s “sporty fastback design and thoughtfully crafted cabin.”
The QX65 is expected to arrive at US dealers in early summer 2026. The price starts from 53,990 dollars. The $55,690 Sport adds an aggressive look with 20-inch wheels, while the $62,590 Autograph trim brings 21-inch wheels and a more luxurious interior with massaging front seats and quilted leather.

Why is the QX65 so important to Infiniti?
A return to the brand’s roots
Not only is the QX65 Infiniti’s first true new model since 2021, it’s also a return to the brand’s reputation for sporty luxury, most notably the FX SUV that helped cement its reputation 20 years ago.
Where QX60 is a three-row SUV with a box, QX65 is a mid-size, two-row fast SUV that emphasizes performance. It revolves around a 268bhp Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine that promises both performance and fuel efficiency, coupled with a nine-speed transmission. The lack of rear seats also gives it a massive 35.8 cubic feet of cargo space.
The QX65 is more expensive than the QX60, despite having the same engine, similar cabin technology and fewer seats. However, it also comes with all-wheel drive as standard, while it’s a $2,000 option on the QX60 Pure. The QX65 also comes standard with Luxe features, adding another $7,000 to the QX60.
Infiniti’s new mission statement
While most of Infiniti’s current vehicles are family-oriented SUVs (the QX55 crossover coupe being a notable exception), the QX65 is for leisure drivers, young professionals, and anyone more interested in exciting driving than the daily school run.
This, in turn, could revive Infiniti, along with innovations from the likes of Nissan Rogue Hybrid e-POWERrevitalize the Nissan group as a whole.
