Some Unknown Group Reportedly Using Claude Myth Without Permission

A lot Cagily written story from BloombergAnthropic confirmed Tuesday that it has received information that an unauthorized cannabis group has entered Claude Mythos. He says that it is too dangerous to be released. “We are investigating a report alleging unauthorized access to Claude Mythos Preview through one of our third-party vendor environments,” an Anthropic spokesperson said in a statement to Bloomberg.

Bloomberg confirmed the apparent breach by viewing a live demo and screenshots posted by a member of the group apparently responsible for the hack.

In understandably vague language, Bloomberg explains that the anonymous source says they were part of an unnamed group that abused access “as employees of a third-party contractor for Anthropic” and used “internet search tools often used by cybersecurity researchers” to gain some form of access to the model.

But don’t worry, apparently this secretive group with access to the world’s scariest technology is “interested in playing with new models, not rushing them,” a source revealed to Bloomberg.

The sequence of events in an apparent violation looks like this:

  • There is a Discord group on GitHub that uses bots to get information about unreleased AI models.
  • Artificial intelligence training startup Mercor suffered a data breach
  • The group combined data from the Mercor breach with access to Bloomberg’s source because they work for contractor Anthropic.
  • This allowed the group to guess the online location of Claude Mythos
  • The group has been freelancing since April 7, the same day as Claude Miphos. Announcement of the Glasswing project

To summarize: Anthropic says it has the scariest AI model in the world, and for what it’s worth, many powerful institutions believe it. If we take Anthropic at his word, we all trust that he, and he alone, will not abuse this power he wields. But some unknown entities entered this scary AI model, but if we take they are According to their words, they just used it for some vibe coding tests and swear they didn’t do anything wrong with it.
