Google Meet adds “Take notes for me” and Drive “projects” in person


Apart from that Workplace intelligenceDrive, Schedule, Meet and more in Google Cloud Next 2026 announced a new set of Workspace features on These updates will roll out in the coming weeks.

Google Meet who works with Gemini “suggestedTake notes for me” feature has been around for a while.In fact, “more than 110 million participants have used Take Notes For Me in the past month,” an 8.5x year-over-year increase.

Now, it’s expanding beyond the virtual world to in-person meetings. Tapping Take Notes for Me from the Google Meet mobile app or website will start a recording session that creates transcripts, meeting summaries, and action items in a Google Doc. Additionally, you can now use the automated feature for Teams or Zoom meetings.

Google Drive adds a “Projects” feature to “centrally organize your files and emails” for other people and Gemini. Projects allow you to add a custom set of source files that allow you to easily run multiple conversations. It appears on the web in the “Home” section of the sidebar.

Canvas Google Sheets Allows you to create dashboards, heat maps, kanban boards and other interactive visualizations that can be shared. Similar to the Gemini app, Canvas enables “fully interactive widgets on top of your data.”

Workspace Studio already allows you to automate complex tasks with “flows” like IFTTT. Google is now adding the concept of “skills” for common tasks. They are available in any Gemini chat in Workspace.

Workspace customers using Chrome Enterprise can now use the agent browse automatically feature for multi-step tasks on the web.

Google’s new Workspace MCP Server is available within third-party applications to allow “synthesizing Drive documents and composing Gmail responses to manage Calendar and Conversation logic.”

To further empower developers and simplify these integrations, an official Workspace CLI is coming soon, allowing you to manage and interact with these capabilities directly from your agents.
