Businesses (big and small) get Workspace all day long, and now Google is detailing AI-powered innovations to make their time even easier.
During Google’s Cloud Next 2026 event, the company debuted Workspace Intelligence as part of an agent push to help users work smarter. According to Google, this new approach aims to bring “real-time insight” to your applications by connecting your projects in an automated process. This understanding is done through intelligence gathering. Google says that Workspace Intelligence will “gather the information you need” from Gmail, Docs, Slides, and more, so you’ll have everything at hand when you’re working on your project. It stands on “Situational Awareness”. Twins knowing “what’s important to you”. For this, dates, emails, files, etc. you can think.

The personalization aspect of this comes into play as the agent AI learns who you are and how you speak, even understanding your work style and format preferences. While Workspace Intelligence is the giant umbrella that unites all of its apps, Google has announced several updates for these apps.
Agent AI for a working future
Updates to the big three, namely Docs, Slides, and Sheets, take Gemini up a few notches, as well as Workspace Intelligence. Gemini for Google Docs can use your Gemini engagement data to create infographics, make edits based on other comments, and “edit multiple images” thanks to a new agent AI upgrade. Gemini on the chart can check your emails, documents, chats and web data to “visualize all your information”.
Workspace Intelligence will take into account your files and your company’s visual style to create presentations in Slides. Google Chat is getting Ask Gemini in Chat, a unified experience that’s said to integrate artificial intelligence with every conversation you have with colleagues and partners. If you need help, Google says you can ask the AI a query, and its results will appear in the chat after it’s compiled.
Plus, Ask Gemini in Chat can provide daily unread messages and “urgent action items,” create new Docs or Slides, schedule meetings, and find files for you. The company then highlights the new ones AI Inbox for Gmailstarted at the beginning of April. This new inbox makes sure you’re privy to important emails about upcoming bill payments, appointments, and messages from “priority” contacts.
After testing, the AI Inbox is here and ready to roll, just in case you’re curious. Google offers this feature for $250 per month Google AI Ultra subscribers in the United States
Android Central’s Take
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: This is where Google’s AI really shines. The benefit of combining Gemini with Workspace Intelligence is when you start to see a real work assistant. For large companies and people tasked with focusing on multiple things and working on projects, this will likely be a boon for them. I’m not sure how I feel about an AI trying to create something in my voice or my company’s image. This just sounds like a recipe for disaster, but everything? I am with him.
