Android XR glasses are all on the table for next year, but Samsung’s initially anticipated lineup will reportedly grow with one more device.
New evidence of another pair of Android XR smart glasses has surfaced in Samsung’s One UI 9 code. Android Authority). The code refers to a model codenamed “Haean”. It appears alongside two other model names that may be released as variants of the same model.
It’s hard to say for sure if Samsung plans to launch several separate sets of Android XR glasses. Given that smart glasses come in many different shapes and sizes anyway, the models listed in the Samsung code could be different designs based on very similar hardware.
The codename “Haean” does just that second view in the final finding. It was originally expected to launch with Samsung’s Galaxy XR headset as another option with a built-in display, but it was dropped before launch. It is likely that Samsung has chosen to further improve the XR glasses as the technology improves.
Previous disclosures Samsung confirms At least one pair of smart glasses will carry an AI-powered camera, though fewer will have a display built into one or both lenses. There is Google before showed that the displays are almost ready, so it is possible that this third model will make it an option for users.
The report also notes that the One UI code refers to the appearance of the Bluetooth menu and compatibility with Samsung’s Find app. Given that it will work on Android XR, we expect it to work with Google’s Find My Device network as well. The Galaxy XR headphones meet the same standards.
There is no word on when these glasses will be announced, but their appearance in One UI 9 suggests that they will be released this year.
