The Galaxy Z Fold 8 has a smaller selfie camera cutout, the leak claims

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 sounds pretty familiar based on early leaks, but Samsung is apparently tweaking the selfie camera cutout, which sounds interesting, but I’m curious if that’s something anyone actually cares about.

according to Ice UniverseSamsung will significantly reduce the cutout of the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s selfie camera on the external display. Side-by-side, the different looks are immediately noticeable.

Where the Fold 7 has a cutout of 3.7mm, the Fold 8 reduces it to 2.5mm (in diameter).

As mentioned, this seems like a pretty big difference, and it’s always nice to regain screen real estate while making the notch less noticeable.

But did it really matter?

I’m a daily user of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 – I bought this phone with my own money. It’s a great device, but Samsung has a lot of room for improvement. I’d like to see improvements to thermal management, battery life (and size), cleaning up the hinge crease, and more. long Before the selfie camera cutout comes to mind. Samsung is certainly capable of solving more than one problem at a time, but as the industry continues to move forward, I hope that this has not been too time-consuming compared to the laundry list of other problems that need to be solved…
