Pixel 11 Tensor G6 GPU leak sounds a little weak

Google’s Pixel 11 phones are still a few months away, but we’ve basically been waiting for this hardware for years at this point — and here’s the latest Tensor G6 We expect to strengthen the SoC line. Going all the way back to 2024, we expected certain sacrifices to be seen in the Tensor G6, including the use of a GPU originally intended for the G4. Now that we’re getting closer to seeing this silicon debut, we’re starting to hear a little more about what to expect from it.

Like the information we reviewed back in February about the possibility Tensor G6 comes with Titan M3 The security chip is once again one of the accounts behind our source Mystical Leaks Telegram channel (Thanks: Dylan H). We’re just teasing a bit for now, but it’s enough to reveal a few details about the chip:

Although most of these have been redacted, we can see a few important details here. For starters, we find all of them carries the code names we have been associated with the Pixel 11 family for ages now, where it is positively associated with the devices.

But the more interesting information is above and shows some of the changes we can expect from the Tensor G6 itself. Instead of an octa-core setup like the G5, it looks like we could be switching to a seven-core setup. At least the top part of the image here is dark, but the rest of the numbers match Geekbench Benchmark reports released a few months ago to show what the Pixel 11 Pro XL can do. While it’s hard to put too much faith in benchmarks that claim to represent unreleased devices, the consistency in clock speeds and core counts is certainly interesting – and we’d suggest getting just one 4.11GHz core.

It also suggests that Google is moving to Arm’s latest C1-Ultra and C1-Pro cores, as we’ve seen. It is powered by Samsung Exynos 2600. So far this all sounds great; what about that GPU? The PowerVR CXT-48-1536 It’s 2021 and Tensor G5 already uses DXT-48-1536. When we looked at this possibility in late 2024, we noted that Google is opting to minimize die size with the G6’s option to effectively “back off” on the GPU, and even at best this may represent a lateral move. Considering how We’re surprised we’re on the Pixel 10 gaming this is not a move we are looking forward to.

Maybe Google will find a way to squeeze some extra performance out of this option that we didn’t expect. But it feels a bit like two steps forward, one step back when Pixel fans want to make no compromises.
