We’re only three months away from Spider-Man a much-anticipated comeback to the big screen and now we know exactly how the movie begins. In an insanely fun piece of marketing, Sony released the first three pages of the script Spider-Man: The New Day, complete with notes from stars Tom Holland and Zendaya, director Destin Daniel Cretton, and more. And there’s a lot to dig into.
It comes through the pages Entertainment Weekjust debuted them. And it is clear that all this is very calculated. It’s not like these were leaked or scanned somewhere. It is probably unlikely that all these people took notes on the same copy of the script. So it’s all just for this fun, online discovery. But we love him anyway.
In the pages we learn how the film unfolds and more. But the good news is that this is all from the trailer, so very, very little is spoiled. Here are the pages. Click on each one to explode them.
Still, there’s a lot there, both in the script itself and in the completely real, not-so-fake notes.
We learn that Peter is starting to feel something wrong with his body. We learn that he has a new AI called EV to help him and a 3D printer that helps him in the Spidey stuff. She follows Ned and MJ on social media as they go to college and is still really struggling with the decision she made at the end of the last movie. But it got him going, and he got a new costume that was specifically inspired by the other Peters he met in that movie.
Then as we said, everything we read here is in the trailer. No major spoilers. A very difficult way to bring the audience back to this world before Peter takes his mask and files. Spider-Man is back.
We will have more Spider-Man: The New Day As we get closer to the July 31st release date. Do you love this marketing as much as we do?
