Apple Home recently got better in three ways, here’s what’s new

Apple is expected to launch new wave of Home products iOS 27 is bringing Siri later this year long overdue overhaul. There are three ways that Apple Home will also improve during the iOS 26 cycle. That’s what’s new.

#1: Adaptive Temperature feature for smart thermostats

iOS 26 introduced a new Adaptive Temperature feature in Apple’s Home app designed to increase the “smartness” in smart thermostats. Here’s what it does:

Set your thermostat to adjust automatically when you go home, go to bed, or are away for long periods of time. Your iPhone uses in-device intelligence to predict when you’ll be home to set it to the right temperature when you’re away, and adjusts the thermostat to save energy when you’re away. It also responds to the sleep schedule created on your iPhone to adjust the temperature when you fall asleep and when you wake up.

While Apple technically debuted Adaptive Temperature in iOS 26.0, the first supported smart thermostat just launched earlier this month.

The Agara Smart Thermostat W200 It debuted with full support for Adaptive Temperature, making your home comfortable and energy efficient with zero effort on your part. All you need Apple home center.

Agara’s W200 also acts as a Matter 1.4 hub with built-in Thread and Zigbee, and it also integrates nicely with Agara smart locks and video doorbells, allowing you to control and monitor live video feeds directly on the 4″ touchscreen.

#2: The first smart lock with Apple Home Key and Ultra Wideband

Apple Home also benefited from the recent arrival of Apple Home Key and the first smart lock to support Ultra Wideband (UWB) functionality.

That product Read Smart Lock U400— It is clear that Agara is going all-in on Apple integrations.

Apple Home Key is built into the Home app for your smart lock, allowing you to easily lock and unlock your door and share access with guests.

The best thing about Agara’s U400 is its Ultra Broadband feature. UWB means your door can automatically lock and unlock based on your presence alone. And it is more accurate, safe and reliable than the alternatives.

If you’ve ever bought a lot of prefab home accessories, you’ll know that it can be difficult to install them one by one.

But in iOS 26.2, Apple gave the Home app a convenient update in that department.

According to Apple’s official release notes:

Combining multiple bundled accessories in the Home app allows you to use the same setup code to easily register multiple accessories when sold together

That’s right: with one setup code, you can quickly and easily add a large number of smart plugs, light bulbs, motion sensors and more to the Home app.

I’ve moved a lot in recent years and I’m tired of the process of installing smart home accessories. That’s why I’m always in favor of changes that make installations easier.
