Today, Apple released the new AirPods firmware, its first notable update since last month When version 8B39 comes out.
Today, the latest AirPods Pro 3 firmware is being developed 8B40. It comes first Launching iOS 26.5 in the coming weeks.

Currently, the software is only available for the AirPods Pro 3, but may soon be rolled out to the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4. FYI, all three models received the 8B39 update last month.
Most AirPods software updates simply contain “Bug fixes and other improvements,” according to Apple’s release notes, so that’s still the case today.
