Just in case you’re not up to speed Lanterns The late kerfuffle was a short one trailer for the upcoming DC series It disappeared from HBO Max’s YouTube channel. It came without any explanation (even talk DC boss James Gunn) Fans immediately wondered if it had anything to do with the controversy that arose when comics legend Grant Morrison complained. Lanterns co-creator Damon Lindelof explained why “green” is not in the title of the show about the characters. Green lantern.
Lindelof later apologizedapparently angry that Morrison was hurt. But the trailer’s subsequent release has people wondering if it has anything to do with it.
It turns out: no. as Entertainment Week explains: “The original version Lanterns the trailer includes licensed music that has expired and is kept offline until replaced by an evergreen version… this is a fairly common practice when it comes to trailer and teaser assets that contain licensed tracks.”
A new version of the trailer (re-released with a modified instrumental for the Bruce Springsteen track “State Trooper”) also revealed the show’s exact August 16 release date.
Gunn chimed in with social media posts highlighting a certain color, in case you thought for a second that she wasn’t aware of the powder.

This seems to solve the issue.
HBO Max reminds us, “The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops who are drawn into a dark, down-to-earth mystery while investigating a murder in America’s heartland.” Kelly Macdonald stars alongside Garrett Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen. Pierre’s character is like that confirmed to appear The Man of TomorrowGunn’s Superman Follow-up coming in July 2027.
