Valve is finally ready to release a new one Steam controllersales will begin on May 4. Another thing set to launch on the same day could be the Steam Controller’s first third-party accessory. The mechanism features a new Basegrip designed to match Valve’s new gamepad.
Known for its mounts and handles, Mechanism has a new one Basegrip is designed for the Steam Controller. Joins the company telephone standyou can connect your phone to play games on the go. If you add Steam Link to the equation of streaming your Steam library, you pretty much have a makeshift Steam Deck on your hands. However, Mechanism notes that the Steam Link app doesn’t work on all Android and iOS devices yet.
In addition to the phone dock, Basegrip will also work with the company’s upcoming Steam Controller dock. This dock not only lifts the controller up for you to display, but also allows you to keep the gamepad charged. The dock is expected to launch in June, but you can sign up to join the waiting list.
As mentioned earlier, Basegrip for the Steam Controller will launch next Monday. When it does, it will be available on Mechanism’s website for $9. However, if you have a 3D printer, you can download the files for free to make your own Basegrip and “removed Dock”. Meanwhile, the handset costs $25, and there’s no price yet for the dock.

Valve is finally updating the 2015 Steam Controller with a new layout that mirrors the familiar button configuration of the Steam deck. It supports Steam games on PC, Steam Deck and even Steam Link on Android.
