The high-performance American sedan is a dying breed. V8 engines, manual transmissions, and a rear-wheel-drive platform that reward daily drivers on the way to work and those skilled at the track. that’s right hybrids and electrified vehicles sometimes they are faster and more powerful, but nothing like a classic V8 performance car with a powerful exhaust.
Since the original 2004 CTS-V, Cadillac has spent more than 20 years refining this custom design. It was a bold move for a brand that, at the time, was still largely associated with the soft cruisers your grandparents drove to early bird specials (2008 DTS, anyone?). The V-Series didn’t just turn that retiring reputation on its head; Bob Evans was on fire all the way to the parking lot.
This journey saw the V-Series marque evolve from a niche experience to a world-class performance sub-brand. On the road, Cadillac wasn’t afraid to be assertive, if not outright nuts. We saw the 2006 STS-V with its hand-built, supercharged Northstar V8, followed by the 2011. CTS-V wagonThe 556-horsepower long-roof unicorn remains one of the most sought-after collector cars today.

With a production run of only 26 units (compared to the year Cadillac joined F1), this one-off Blackwing is more exclusive than most modern supercars.
Blackwing Cadillac represents the ultimate package for loyal and American muscle car enthusiasts. While members of this group no doubt own their favorite V-Series car, who wouldn’t want to be one of the lucky 26 to get their hands on the wheel and their feet on the pedals?
Working with team members at GM Motorsports, Cadillac engineers created the most powerful Blackwing to date. A 6.2-liter V8 that produces 685 horsepower and 673 lb.-ft. of torque, features an upgraded supercharger with a CNC-machined cover and laser-etched FIA logo, created in-house by GM Motorsports staff.
All 26 cars come exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, while aerodynamic tweaks and thermal management improvements are the result of data gathered during Cadillac’s endurance racing.

The Precision Package offers track-oriented upgrades
As the name suggests, the CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series was developed in collaboration with Formula 1 and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body of world motorsport. As Mark Reuss, president of General Motors, noted, each car is “designed to be the centerpiece of any collection and a true celebration of Cadillac’s new era in Formula 1.”
From now on, every Collector series car is believed to be offered with the Precision Package, a set of track-oriented upgrades:
- Carbon-Ceramic Brakes: Improved rotors provide consistent stopping power while reducing unsprung weight. The braking system is completed with custom Harbor Gray Metallic calipers.
- Custom Chassis Tuning: Special front steering knuckles and rear toes provide sharper turning for high-speed cornering.
- Magnetic Ride Control: GM’s long-standing suspension system has been calibrated for the F1-inspired Blackwing’s higher power output. Other suspension upgrades include firmer springs and an 11% stiffer anti-sway bar.
Exterior highlights and interior touches
Cadillac F1 design
Each car is finished in Midnight Stone Frost, a matte black paint that reflects the look of the Cadillac F1 Team. Exterior highlights include Carbon Flash Metallic wheels, monochrome Cadillac logos and a carbon fiber lower body accented with a Sumbala Silver stripe.
As the first American road car to feature the official F1 and FIA logos, the branding is featured on all sides and everywhere, including the doors, spoiler, rocker panels, floorboard, headrests and center console. The interior also features unique details, including a 3D printing F1 shifter medallion and custom Cadillac Formula 1 door sill plate.
