
Apple CarPlay recently gained support for AI chatbots, and a third app is coming soon to add support: Grok.
Grok Voice mode is coming to CarPlay soon
The latest version of Grok for iPhone now includes a placeholder app for Apple CarPlay. Grok’s CarPlay app isn’t working yet, but the placeholder app confirms that xAI plans to support Apple’s in-car experience soon.
For now, the app launches with just one message for users: “Grok Voice mode is coming to CarPlay soon.” Grok is already a built-in feature in Tesla cars. Upcoming CarPlay support will bring the AI chatbot experience to almost every car on the road.

Grok originally started as part of Elon Musk’s xAI, which absorbed Xi (formerly Twitter) before becoming part of SpaceX.
When Grok Voice mode comes to CarPlay soon, it will Join ChatGPT and Confusion to the party.
Google has shown no signs of supporting Gemini with CarPlay, but Google’s Gemini models will help power the new Siri in iOS 27 later this year. Apple is also expected to sell special Siri appit will probably work with CarPlay as well.
