Worried about Edge storing your passwords in clear text? A special password manager stores them in encrypted storage


A security researcher recently discovered Microsoft Edge saves and loads all saved passwords in clear text in your computer’s memory, not on disk, at startup. According to the researcher, Edge is the only Chromium browser that does this @L1v1ng0ffTh3L4N.

The disclosure raised questions about the security of Edge’s password management. With today being World Password Day and more people thinking about password security, the timing couldn’t be better for Microsoft.
