Gmail’s ‘Help me write’ can now imitate how you speak to create an email for you

What you need to know

  • Google has announced two updates to Gmail’s “Help me write” AI, which help speed up the workflow while also increasing its capabilities.
  • Now, the company says, AI can mimic how you speak by looking at your writing style and tone from previous emails.
  • Help Me Write can now access your other Workspace apps to add relevant information to a draft without your manual input.
  • In addition to regular Workspace accounts, more people can use this feature with Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra.

Twins‘s presence in Gmail can be quite a helping hand, and now Google says it’s trying to take it up a notch (or two).

Google announced this week, a Job post Help Me Write, Gemini’s email developer assistant, is getting two major customization updates. This week’s first (and, frankly, most interesting) update is the “customization of tone and style” for Gemini. Google says that when this is enabled, AI can compose emails for you that “match the tone and style of previously written emails.”
