Twins‘s presence in Gmail can be quite a helping hand, and now Google says it’s trying to take it up a notch (or two).
Google announced this week, a Job post Help Me Write, Gemini’s email developer assistant, is getting two major customization updates. This week’s first (and, frankly, most interesting) update is the “customization of tone and style” for Gemini. Google says that when this is enabled, AI can compose emails for you that “match the tone and style of previously written emails.”
In fact, it looks like you’re writing it, but you’re not. The company provides a before and after view of how AI (today) is a bit ‘hard’, you might say. With this customization upgrade, it will take a look at how you typed before and try to parrot it. Plus, AI will start doing more work when it comes to preparing emails for you.
“Contextualization” is Google’s official term for AI to understand when to use your connected Workspace apps to get information. After your query, the AI will use “context” from apps like Drive (and details shared in past emails) to fill in the rest of the message. Google wants this to be useful because users won’t have to switch between apps as often.
Google it for project presentations, potential partnerships, etc. thinks it will be useful for users preparing e-mail about.
Advanced Help
These updates to Help Me Write in Gmail are available for Business, Enterprise, Consumer (Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra), and Education (extra) customers. Google says it may take up to 15 days before users on Rapid and Planned Release domains see it.
Helping users create email “Help me write“It’s all about. Mobile users got this feature before the web. Once the last did get, the feature was almost identical to the Android experience. After you submit a request, the AI will start preparing an email that you can satisfy. However, this computer introduction came with a new feature: “polishing”.
This option replaced the old “refine my draft” button. For drafts longer than 12 words, AI steps in and cleans up the language and improves clarity. Gmail got another artificial forwarding feature earlier this year With AI Inbox. Gemini will scan your emails to create short summaries based on what they see. It’s like giving you (hopefully) all the highlights of your most recent emails, so you can respond to what’s important when it matters.
Android Central’s Take
You know, if you usually use this kind of feature, that’s fine. If not, then that’s okay too. All I can say is, if you are the first, make sure everything is as it should be. This is Gen AI after all. Errors can creep in. Using the word can be a little confusing, and you may not want to sound too informal with certain people.
