A few weeks after starting the new one Cheetah 2 Pro, Amazfit is now expanding its lineup from pavement to mountain trails with the new Cheetah 2 Ultra. Designed specifically for trail runners and ultra-distance runners, the new wearable offers improved durability and essential features for off-road training.

Amazfit equipped fitness tracking With a grade 5 titanium bezel, bezel and caseback, plus sapphire glass protection over the display, keeping the overall build of the watch light enough for long training sessions and races. Amazfit has also upped the screen to 1.5 inches, which should make maps and navigation screens easier to see on average than the smaller Pro model. The display still reaches 3,000 nits of brightness to ensure visibility during daytime traffic. As for its endurance, the Cheetah 2 Ultra can last up to 33 hours in Trail Running mode with dual frequency GPS. heart rate monitoring, map navigation and always-on display enabled. Outside of workouts, the company says users can expect up to 30 days with normal usage.

Not surprisingly, navigation is another big focus, with the watch supporting full-color topographic and contour maps, offline rerouting, and point-to-point route creation. It also adds a new elevation overview tool that color-codes the difficulty of descent along the route. Amazfit also says that map rendering and refresh rates have been significantly improved over previous generations. Doubles the memory of the Pro model with 64GB of onboard storage for ultra maps and offline audio. For safety on the trails, the Ultra also has a built-in flashlight with white, red, SOS and booster lighting modes.

Like many of Amazfit’s new wearables, the Cheetah 2 Ultra connects to training and recovery data through the Zepp ecosystem. The company continues to build its Hybrid Training platform with tools designed to help runners balance endurance work, strength training and recovery between longer training blocks. The watch supports metrics including VO₂ max, lactate threshold, power output, HRV, fatigue tracking and exercise load analysis. On the Ultra, Amazfit also adds more trail-specific training analysis, with load calculations designed to account for elevation gain and terrain difficulty, rather than tracking trail miles like road miles.

The Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra goes on sale from today through Amazfit’s website for $599.99, continuing the brand’s recent push into the market. Between the new trail-oriented features, titanium construction and $600 price tag, the company is positioning the Cheetah lineup as a direct competitor to brands like Garmin.
