System blur
Last year, Android 16 QPR1 introduced blurring to Notifications and Quick Settings. As of Android 17 Beta 4, the widget selector is the only element with more system blur.

Android Canary 2605 now adds it to the pill-shaped container of the volume slider. This transparency allows you to see more of your home screen or the app below it.
Opening the full volume panel is another example of this blurred background.
Then when you long press Pixel Launcher for the power menu (which also blurs the background) and Wallpaper and style, Widgets, Apps list and Home settings.
