wow has been making screen-free fitness trackers for over a decade at this point, but now almost every major fitness brand is interested in the category. We saw it recently Launch of Fitbit Airfollows the same concept: 24/7 health tracking, no screen, and up to a week of battery life.
Now it looks like Garmin could be next. A Ukrainian retailer has leaked Garmin’s screen-free fitness tracker (via Notebook check), revealing its design, features and unexpectedly high rumored price tag.
According to the listing, Garmin’s Whoop competitor will be called Garmin Cirga. Like other screenless fitness trackers, it has a minimal fabric band with no screen and is designed for passive health tracking throughout the day.
The listing also states that the Circa will be available in two sizes, S/M and L/XL, along with black and gray color options. Like other fitness trackers in this category, it will continuously monitor heart rate, sleep, steps, calories and other health indicators.
What really stands out is the rumored price. The retail listing claims the Garmin Circa can cost around 22,399 Ukrainian hryvnias, which translates to around $510. If true, that would make it the most expensive screen-free fitness tracker on the market right now.
Adoption of Android Central
I love that more brands are getting into the screen-free fitness tracker space, but $500 for a passive fitness tracker sounds pretty wild indeed. Garmin really needs to justify that price with more than just better fitness tracking.
In comparison, Fitbit Weather optional starting at about $100 Google Health Premium subscription it costs $10 per month. Whoop, meanwhile, follows a subscription-based model that ranges from $199 to $359 per year.
So if this Garmin price turns out to be accurate, the Circa will sit above both the Fitbit Air and the Whoop.
Of course, this is not yet an official price and things can easily change before the sale. It’s also worth remembering that this information comes from a Ukrainian retailer, so US prices may vary greatly.
