
The launch of macOS 27 is just a few weeks away and counting discontinuing support for four Mac modelsrumors suggest that the new software version will be packed with AI features and some design updates. Here’s what’s coming.
#1: The New Siri

Siri’s AI overhaul is expected to be added not only to iOS 27, but also to almost all of Apple’s software platforms, including macOS 27.

If your tabs are getting unruly, Safari will let you hit a new “Organize Tabs” button that can automatically group your tabs based on common themes.
It won’t be for everyone, but if it works well, the new feature could be a handy tool for Safari users.
#3: Apple Photos editing features

Apple Intelligence will power three new image editing tools arriving in macOS 27 and iOS 27.

- Extend: “allows users to create additional image content outside of the original frame”
- Upgrade: “Uses AI to automatically improve color, lighting and overall image quality”

Each new feature is expected to use a new version of Apple’s Foundation Models that work with Gemini.
#4: Creating shortcuts with natural language

Apple’s Shortcuts app will soon make it easier than ever to create custom shortcuts.
macOS 27 will have users reported can use natural language to describe the shortcut they want to build – then it will build itself.
Thanks to Apple Intelligence, the Shortcuts app can not only suggest actions, but also create new ones to fulfill your shortcut request.
#5: Design changes and touch optimizations

macOS 27 is also rumored to come with design changes, focusing on two areas:
- Improvements in Liquid Glass design
- Optimizations for future touch support
On the Liquid Glass front, macOS Tahoe has been criticized for not offering a redesign as strong as iOS 26. Bloomberg he says fixes for common quirks like shadows and transparency are coming.
As for touch optimization, new MacBook Ultra It is expected to be introduced later this year as the first Mac with a touchscreen. For this reason, we expect some minor UI changes to better support touch.
