Google does completely updated its search experience, and it doesn’t stop at YouTube. Like the rest of Google, YouTube’s search bar is getting rich with AI tools like Ask YouTube, which should provide users with a more sophisticated search experience.
“With Ask YouTube, you can make more complex search queries, like getting tips on how to teach your child to ride a bike or finding creative reviews of relaxing games to play before bed,” the company explains. “You can even ask additional questions to continue to refine what you’re looking for.”
YouTube will compile and respond to both Short and Long-form videos.
Premium subscribers in the US can start using the feature now through YouTube’s optional Premium on desktop suggestions to test new tools.

The company also announced that it has added Google’s new AI video model, Gemini Omni, to YouTube Shorts Remix and YouTube Create.
“Remixing with Omni offers a new way for users to create and build on each other’s imaginations,” YouTube said in a press release. “The model better understands user intent to create a more coherent and meaningful story, while managing complex video and audio arrangements behind the scenes.”
Like other companies Meta and OpenAI received a mixed reception while pushing the use of artificial intelligence in Shorts. Even OpenAI sunset Sora, a social app where users can post and share AI-generated clips. But YouTube spreads it out in a way that feels a little front and center.
YouTube is also expanding its capabilities similarity detection tool To creators 18 and older, this was supposed to help prevent creators from plagiarizing other people’s AI content. If a creator finds that they are being misrepresented in AI-related videos, they can request that the video be removed. As this feature is only now being rolled out more widely, it remains to be seen how effective it will be.
