As the second half progresses, Bear can’t hide his desire to have Nikki completely different personeither to himself or to his friends. And as he struggles to catch his breath, he is pulled back into the reality he created…
Death of Bear and Nikki’s friend Sarah. Just as the latter is about to confess her feelings for Bear, Wish Nicky gets a head start on the situation, then brutally smashes Sarah’s face into a brick until she’s unrecognizable. And if that wasn’t bad enough, Wish tells Nikki Bear that the fate of her friends is on her.
The Hollywood Reporter Sarah’s actor Megan Lawless was interviewed about her role in the film, including her gruesome death. When it was time to go, she was excited to go out “iconicly” and called it her favorite day on set. According to him, Nikki’s actor Inde Navarette used a helmet wig to break the glass, then Lawless had to “bang” his head against the brick while Navarette repeatedly imitated the bangs. After a certain point, the crew replaced Lawless with a puppet version to complete the rest of the scene and shot a close-up of Sarah’s mashed face.
“We had two steps to fix it,” Lawless said of her death. “The whole sequence is just hilarious. We had to play this thing that felt a little silly, but with 100 percent commitment. (…) I was proud to have a death scene in this movie that was so iconic that no one would ever forget.” Even so, he admitted to being surprised Obsession The TIFF screening and death was met with applause. Unexpected, but he stepped up because horror fans are absolutely sick and he loves that about them.
Most of the online chatter about Obsession It was about Sara’s fate and her relationship with Bear and Nikki. Like Bear’s costar Michael Johnston, Lawless thinks their characters could be something under different circumstances. But he doesn’t see Sarah or Nikki as villains (Bear on the other hand….), nor does he think Sarah would act while the other two are still in a relationship. Even the idea of them going after the kiss that Wish Nikki cuts at the party is something that Lawless thinks goes “against everything Sarah believes in.”
