Tim Cook joins the Memorial Day celebrations
Every year on Memorial Day, Tim Cook posts a message of remembrance to fallen US soldiers. This morning, he shared this year’s post, saying that the sacrifice of fallen soldiers is “the foundation of the freedom we enjoy.”

Tim Cook’s observance of national commemorations is a tradition he has continued for years, with messages shared on days like Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
Last year, he congratulated veterans, thanking “those who bravely served our country.” In the past, he has also shared pictures of veterans working at Apple.

Contrary to what it did last year, the Memorial Day message drew huge numbers politically charged and critical responsesthis year’s message was met with supportive, apolitical responses focused more on the holiday itself.
This can likely be explained by the timing of President Trump’s tariff announcements, which took place in late April last year and were still dominating the debate by Memorial Day.
While Tim Cook’s relationship with the Trump administration still remains a source of criticism among some users, this year’s responses were noticeably less confrontational overall.
