One of the main Apple Intelligence features to date has been Visual Intelligence. Arda startedother limited opportunities Via Camera Control, but with iOS 26, the company extended it to screenshots. I’ve found these capabilities very useful so far, and I’d like to see Apple take it even further with iOS 27.
iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence offers three new Visual Intelligence features for screenshots: The ability to quickly create calendar events, the ability to search for similar images (useful for shopping), and the ability to ask ChatGPT questions about your screenshot.
I loved the ability to quickly create Calendar events with Visual Intelligence, and that’s definitely me more enthusiastic user From the Calendar app on your iPhone.
In my opinion, Apple could take these capabilities a step further in iOS 27 by adding Reminders to Visual Intelligence.
Integration of reminders
Visual Intelligence has a lot of potential for Reminders. At least personally, I’d love to have the ability to quickly take a screenshot of something and then turn what was said into a Reminder.
If I’m researching something, it’s nice to take a quick screenshot and turn it into a Reminder to come back to later. Think of it as a kind of universal bookmarking tool.
Sometimes people message me and ask me to remind them of everything. (I’m not sure why some people think I’m a human reminder, but that’s another thing.) If you could quickly screenshot the text conversation in question and turn that snippet into a reminder, that would also be very helpful.
I’m sure such a feature would require more advanced analysis than a calendar feature, as figuring out why someone actually requested a reminder is much more complex than just finding the date/time and title.
I think this ability has great potential. It can even work nicely with Visual Intelligence in Camera Control, where you can take a picture of something and create a reminder from it.
Wrap it up
iOS 27 will be presented at WWDC26 for more than a week. Apple Intelligence should be the star of the show, some key features include a the new Siri appone improved Camera application with a new Siri mode, as well as Apple finally introducing the long-promised smarter Siri. A new partnership with Google.
