The latest Xbox update adds new custom colors, smarter service alerts, and more ways to customize your console experience

The latest Xbox Insider updateand yes, I still refuse to call it an XBOX, there are some pretty cool extras. Nothing is as significant as some of the updates we’ve seen in the past, but there’s still plenty worth sharing here.

The first is the update Xbox Accessories app that now allows users to see the actual controller inside the app. This is a small but welcome change, especially for those who have limited edition controllers like the latest Forza Horizon 6.

Next, and continuing Xbox’s trend of giving gamers what they want, the company has added more color options thanks to community feedback. The new hex code color picker allows users to match exactly the color they want. Personally, I love a good #0077B6, but that’s just me.

Moving forward, Xbox is also adding an easier way to find “What’s New” after an update, accessible through the top-right navigation of the control panel. A notable addition for me is the ability to check the Xbox service status directly on the console. If there is a confirmed issue, you will now receive a notification in the upper right corner of your screen.

Xbox is actively seeking feedback in the new ones XBOX Player Voice feedback forumso if you want to share some feedback, whether it’s new ideas or how you feel about certain updates, head over there and let Xbox know what you think.

Now I know this isn’t the biggest update and it comes as part of it Xbox’s promise to deliver consistent improvements for console usersbut I’m glad we’re finally seeing a steady stream of updates after the drought we had before Sharma was named CEO of Xbox.
