Google Drive introduces a powerful document scanner redesign


After the trial, the tests began last yearGoogle Drive now offers a redesigned document scanner on Android with powerful, in-device features.

Available in beta version for this app last few monthsusers with the option to revert to the old scanner. From the screenshot shared by Sameer Samat of Android below, the glass icon in the upper right corner has disappeared.

You have the option to turn off automatic scanning by pressing the pause button to the right of the capture. A system file selector is also available on the left for images you’ve already taken.

With Auto-Best Frame, Google will “automatically replace blurry scans with the highest quality frame available.” Duplicate Detection works to transfer pages you’ve already pulled.

The new document scanner uses on-device processing for “lightning speed, offline availability and overall data privacy.” Hence, it only works on Android devices with at least 8GB of RAM.

This new document scanner is supported by Google Play services and is also available in apps like Files by Google.
