Somehow Minecraft is backand this time it’s a square. It was the sequel to the worst movie I watched last year The Minecraft movie came out in full square form. It’s not a bad title, unfortunately, but a lot more has been revealed in Minecraft Live, so I’ll put my feelings aside and just do my best to deliver the details.
The film is expected to be released on July 23, 2027, and Kirsten Dunst, who many will recognize from her role as Mary Jane in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, is set to play Alex, Steve’s female counterpart.
There’s more though. Legendary British actor Matt Berry, who has a voice to die for, is also set to appear. While her role is currently unconfirmed, her outfit has led some fans to speculate that she will be playing the popular creepypasta character Herobrine. For those unfamiliar, Herobrine is a ghost-like figure rumored to haunt the worlds of players in 2010’s Legend.
No wonder we’re getting a sequel the first Minecraft movie was a huge blockbuster hitfinding a strong audience among young people.
The launch of the new movie was attended by several Minecraft creators, including TommyInnit and Quackity. Along with the trailer, Minecraft also announced an official build challenge directly related to the movie.
The details are simple enough. Players are asked to build something spectacular, with finalists selected before community voting determines the winner. While the winning composition can be seen in the film itself, there will also be a special title.
Fans can also expect new biomes, characters and mobs to appear in the series, with the team promising to take viewers even deeper into the world of Minecraft this time around. whatever that means.
I’ve been playing Minecraft for over a decade the biggest YouTubers around were The Yogscasttherefore it is a game that I hold very dear. Despite my issues with the movie last year, I’m still somewhat hopeful that a sequel will be released next year.
