What you need to know
- A report from a Japanese publication claims that it has spotted a Bluetooth SIG listing that shows the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
- This likely confirms that the device name exists, but it’s questionable which phone Samsung will give it to.
- Recent rumors suggest that the successor to the Fold 7 will shed the “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra” moniker, leaving the long-rumored Wide Fold with the standard “Fold 8” title.
Certain leaks feel significant ahead of a new product launch, and it could be for Samsung’s next Fold series.
Typescript of the Japanese edition Sumaho Digest Samsung’s book-style foldable (mean SamMobile). Turning heads is the device name of this new product: Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. It’s a phone name that’s been in the news recently, along with Samsung’s expected “Wide” Fold 8. The importance of the Bluetooth SIG database, which clearly shows the “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra”, could indicate that this is the direction Samsung is going.
The publication assumes that this means the phone will be available in the Japanese market. Plus, it says it’s revealed a handful of model numbers for the Fold 8 Ultra, each with a different carrier and the SIM-free version.
Although this name is beautiful, it leaves a lot to the imagination. Bluetooth SIG listings are usually devoid of any specs (we’re always hungry for that), and this time is no different. The explanation for its significance is simple: the “Ultra” tag could be for the Fold we’ve already been waiting for.
It will be interesting to unpack
Last week A Alleged Chinese tipster It is said that Samsung has changed its naming behavior for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. We might start thinking about the “Ultra” Fold 8, but it’s not the device you’re thinking of. The tipster claims that the Fold 8 Ultra will be the regular Fold 8 – the successor to the Fold 7. The main “Fold 8” is rumored to be kept for the wide folding.
Staying on topic, the latest Fold 8 (or Fold Ultra) rumors claim that the device will be miss out on some amazing stuff features. This foldable may forget the existence of Samsung’s Privacy Screen, but it will also be S Penless this year. This last note is give or take. On the one hand, some consumers want it back, but on the other hand, Samsung made the Fold 7 thinnerand bringing back the S Pen would do the opposite.
As for the wider Fold 8, rumors claim it may have a dual camera setup. A 50MP main and ultra-wide lens may be what all users find out of it. Unfortunately, it sounds like we won’t be getting a telephoto lens, which the Fold 8 Ultra is likely to feature.
Android Central’s Take
This is an interesting scenario in which we find ourselves. On the one hand, we “know” that the title “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra” exists. This list does not indicate that it is a broad or common layer that we have heard about. I know what the rumors say, but it still feels weird that the Ultra will go to the regular. Could it be the camera setup? Usually when I hear “Ultra” I think “oh, this phone has a bigger screen, better chip, blah blah”. But if I’m going by the rumours, that’s not the case for the screen.
