While everything else has gotten more expensive lately, there’s one important commodity that hasn’t been significantly affected: wireless service. With prepaid carriers expanding everywhere, even the biggest mobile service providers are starting to lower their prices and offer new data plans for budget-conscious consumers.
Verizon already revolutionized the wireless experience with its customizable myPlan app, but the Big Three carrier took things even further. launches new Simplicity plan. Along with unlimited wireless on Verizon’s 5G Ultra Broadband network, the new Simplicity plan also comes with 10GB of mobile hotspot data, international roaming and satellite messaging, call filtering, and additional entertainment packages that you can mix and match each month.

So what’s the catch?
The Verizon Simplicity plan offers a ton of value no matter how you look at it, but it’s not for everyone. One thing I noticed is that unlike other Verizon plans, the Simplicity plan doesn’t get cheaper the number of lines you add. This can be a problem for families trying to save money by taking advantage of multi-line discounts.
Additionally, the Simplicity plan seems to limit video streaming to 720p, unlike the cheapest phone plans it offers. MVNO carriersTaxes and duties are not included in the above price. And again, the $30 per month price is only available to new subscribers using AutoPay — existing Verizon customers will pay $45 per month per line.
Is the Simplicity plan worth it?
If you’re a new customer ready to switch to Verizon and don’t need all the bells and whistles premium offers unlimited plansthen Verizon’s Simplicity plan may be perfect for you. If you’re an existing Verizon customer or want to bring the whole family, I’d probably look elsewhere.
