Crimson Desert is here and it’s for sale with this deal

At the time of writing, the feverishly anticipated Crimson Desert, one of the biggest and most ambitious games of 2026 and one with enough hype to rival GTA 6, is now less than 24 hours away on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Mac and PS5.

No wonder almost everyone rushes to read the reviews and get their last minute pre-orders. If that’s you, I have good news: a Steam version of Crimson Desert is available $60.99 when loaded right now, that means you can get the $70 epic open-world fantasy adventure for roughly $10 off during launch. The $80 Deluxe Edition is also fair $69.99 when loadedas well!

What developer Pearl Abyss set out to accomplish with Crimson Desert is nothing short of ambitious – a massive open-world action-adventure experience that has everything from intense and skillful battle sequences and boss battles to rich and varied side quests to magical, deeply rewarding secrets to discover.

Indeed, it is marketed as the game of your dreams, a final fantasy adventure that will leave you drowning in fun content as you roam the rich and vibrant world of Pywel. It sounds too good to be true…and if Crimson Desert’s reviews are anything to go by, at least in some ways it is. In others, it fully delivers on its potential.

as Summary of Crimson Desert reviews indicates that the game has an overall Metacritic score of 78/100. “Generally favorable”, but from the 90s and “Universal acclaim” many were hoping to see. Its combat, exploration, and discoveries to be found in the open world have been praised, although the main story and its many side quests have been criticized for poor structure and bland objectives.

If you’re interested, Windows Central also reviewed Crimson Desert; my colleague Michael Hoglund became the first member of our team to enter Pywel and play the fantastic saga of Pearl Abyss and gave the game away. a brilliant four and a half star review. He also gave us our Must Play badge.

“Crimson Desert is the kind of game that usually only comes along once in a generation, so unique in its ambition that it will define gaming conversations for weeks, if not months, to come. Despite some notable misses, Pearl Abyss demonstrated what freedom of play really means,” he wrote, calling it an “unforgettable” experience. “What Pearl Abyss has created is beautiful and should be celebrated in every way.”

All in all, Crimson Desert stands out as one of those rare, incredibly ambitious titles that grabs everyone’s attention, even if it doesn’t quite live up to the launch in terms of story structure, quest design, and open-world activities. Still, the general consensus is that there is still a good gameand worth checking out.

You can simply get it $60.99 when loaded or for the Deluxe Edition $69.99 when loaded thanks to these awesome starter deals. Pre-ordering last minute so you can pre-load it and jump right in when it comes out? I’ve got you covered Crimson Desert exact release date and release times.

Is Crimson Desert Soulslike?

Crimson Desert is similar to Soulslikes in that melee attacks and timed escapes are the core of the gameplay, though there are no Souls mechanics like “campfire” checkpoints or recovering lost experience from where you die. Ultimately, this is an action-adventure game, not Soulslike.

Is Crimson Desert an RPG?

Crimson Desert has some RPG elements, such as crafting and upgrading equipment, but it lacks genre hallmarks like impressive dialogue options, leveling systems, and character “building.” It’s more of an action-adventure game than a true action RPG.
