Apple’s next-generation M6 chip is rumored to launch this fall, so here’s what new products are expected to get the M6 first.
The MacBook Ultra / redesigned MacBook Pro is launching with the M6 chip, and it likely won’t be the only one
It is expected to be the largest Mac model that Apple will introduce this fall the rumored MacBook Ultra.
MacBook Ultra, Apple’s touchscreen, OLED, Dynamic Island and more. is the expected name of the new high-end model.
The model was initially expected to be introduced as the new MacBook Pro. While this may still happen, several notable leaks have suggested that the first ‘MacBook Ultra’ is coming instead.
The MacBook Ultra will have chips from the M6 family. Specific chip options are unknown, but we can see the M6 Pro and M6 Max options available from launch.
If Apple goes with the ‘MacBook Ultra’ and keeps the MacBook Pro as a separate linewe could see the debut of the M6, M6 Pro and M6 Max at the same time as high-end MacBook Pros.
Additionally, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman earlier this year hinted The M6 may debut in another product soon.
He wrote: “I think the M6 chip is coming sooner than people expect … in the near future.” This was just a few short sentences after claiming that the MacBook Pro/MacBook Ultra won’t be available until the end of the year.
We’re not expecting a new iPad Pro this year, so the most likely candidates include the iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio that don’t yet have an M5 chip.
