Stop the presses! The laptop maker just announced a price cut in 2026. Despite the ongoing RAM crisis and component shortages, Framework has slashed the price of the Laptop 13 Pro.
Framework was able to acquire a new SSD from its partner ADATA that offers better performance and reliability while costing less.
Framework Laptop 13 Pro pre-orders have not started shipping, so any orders already placed have been upgraded to the new SSD and the price has been adjusted.
“This new SSD comes in 1 TB and 2 TB options, and the 1 TB is priced lower than the 500 GB SSD we previously matched, so we will move 500 GB orders to the lower priced 1 TB drive.” He explained the framework.
The frame’s website didn’t show the discounted prices at the time of this writing, so I can’t share the exact costs of the new configurations. I will update this piece as more information becomes available.
The announcement comes as good news for those looking to buy a unique laptop from Framework, but it’s a relatively small reprieve from the current financial climate.
Even in Framework’s price cut announcement, the PC maker warned that CPU price hikes are expected. “We expect to have to adjust the total system price on the Framework Laptop 13 Pro for new orders in the coming weeks,” Framework said.

Framework lowered its prices on the same day Apple has announced several price increasesthis made for a playful shot. The framework is clarified in a follow up post the timing of its downgrade was accidental and not in response to Apple.
Unfortunately, many laptop manufacturers have raised prices. including Framework. Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo, HP and others had to raise prices. For a short while, Apple was immune to price increases due to component inventory, but that’s no longer the case.
We should not expect things to improve in the near future. When Microsoft announced another wave Price increase on Xbox consolesthe company said it expects console storage and memory prices to double again by the fall of 2027. The same factors that helped double the prices of these components will affect PC parts.
