TL; DR
- The OnePlus Watch 4 may replace its predecessor’s standard IP68 rating with an IP69 certification.
- Despite the rumored durability upgrade, the smartwatch is said to pack a 646mAh battery, almost identical to its predecessor.
- The screen and size will probably be familiar with the 1.5-inch AMOLED in a 47mm body.
A new certification and leak suggests that the OnePlus Watch 4 will be more durable and will keep almost the same battery size. previous model.
Certification lists are usually pretty boring. This time, however, the tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore EMVCo found the Watch 4 (model XL905) in its database and shared a full spec sheet that deserves attention.

The big news is the rumored IP69 rating. Most popular smartwatches, e.g OnePlus Watch 3it has IP68 protection against dust and water immersion. IP69 goes even further and means the Watch 4 can handle high-pressure, high-temperature streams of water.
Under the hood, OnePlus doesn’t fix what isn’t broken. You’re looking at the same Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset found in the Watch 3, paired with a generous 646mAh battery, according to the leaked specs. In comparison, the Watch 3 has a slightly larger 648 mAh battery.
The screen is also familiar: 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED with a resolution of 466 x 466 in a 47 mm body.
Let’s start with the battery. At 646 mAh, OnePlus lives up to its promise of speed and longevity. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8, even with its AI health features, often needs to be charged every night if you use the screen on all the time. If the Watch 4 is anything like its predecessor, you can expect it to last for days.
Now for sustainability. The Galaxy Watch 8 and Google Pixel Watch 4 both have standard 5ATM and IP68 protection. The rumored IP69 rating on the OnePlus Watch 4 sets it apart. To get similar durability, you’ll have to buy something like the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, which costs a lot more.
Note that OnePlus has not yet confirmed these details. Still, the approach makes sense. Watch 3 was the best choice for Android users thanks to its powerful build and great battery life. 4 o’clock looks poised to do the same.
