While the Google Pixel experience is easily one of the best you’ll find today, it’s no secret that other platforms often have features that aren’t available on the Pixel device. As Google prepares to fill one of these gaps, what features do you think the Pixel phones are still missing?
New finds in Android 17 suggest that Google is adding a proper “shuffle” wallpaper option to Pixel phones, a feature that’s becoming commonplace on other devices. I use it on my Galaxy Z Fold 7 to mix it up some amazing footage from the credits Project Hail Mary on my lock screen, but it’s only available outside of Samsung phones. Even Apple supports it on iPhone. The Google Pixel has had a very limited version of this for the better part of a decade now, but it’s taken this long for it to even be in development.
It got me thinking – what other features is the Pixel missing?
For a while, it feels like Google is checking the boxes for things I’ve missed from other devices. Pixel foldables/tablets now support pop-up apps Through Bubblesfor example. This was something I really liked about the Galaxy Z Fold set, but missed when I was day-to-day handling the Pixel 9 Pro Fold last year. Some time agoAutocomplete for unlocking PIN has finally been added, something Google has left out for far too long and something I always miss when I go back to the Pixel from any other Android device.
But these are just a few examples that come to mind – this is where I really want to open up to you.
What features does it have? you Think you’re missing out on Pixel devices?
