KING Art recently presented Warhammer 40,000 fans with a wide game show Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IVthe long-awaited sequel to the classic Dawn of War A franchise that hasn’t seen a new entry since 2017’s Dawn of War III.
This 15 minute demo video features two developers going 1v1 multiplayer shooting mode while showcasing the game’s fast-paced combat and the devastating capabilities of two of the four playable factions: the Space Marines and the Orcs.
For those who don’t know, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is the series Real time strategy Games based on the iconic tabletop battle game (RTS for short).
What makes this series unique among other games in the genre is that it cuts down on the resource management elements significantly and focuses solely on building armies as quickly as possible so you can shoot each other in gruesome and explosive grimdark fashion.
As seen in this game, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 will be no different. In this game, they build the buildings themselvesand collecting resources to create more units for your army is earned by capturing and holding Power Nodes on the map.
As far as playable factions go, the Space Marines are generally a well-rounded army type. They have a wide range of units and vehicles that are tough as nails and can hit enemies twice as hard with an array of devastating weapons built to fit any situation.
Orcs, meanwhile, are bloodthirsty berserkers who specialize in combat and cannot fire directly to save their lives. Their main strategy is to build as many units as possible and defeat their enemies with an irresistible weapon. “TIME” axe-wielding, grenade-throwing spam, squig-riding maniacs.

The original Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War from 2004 holds a special place in my heart because it’s not only one of my gateways to the Warhammer 40,000 universe, but also one of the few RTS games I enjoyed playing as a kid.
As a kid, I was bored of collecting resources in games Age of Empires and Warcraft 3 and just wanted to get to the killing parts (which killed me more often when playing against friends in multiplayer), so Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War was practically made for me.
So it warms my heart to see the series keep that kind of gameplay mentality with Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. The combat looks insanely fast-paced and gloriously brutal, and the amount of units blasting each other on screen is nuts (and I’m worried if my computer can handle such chaos on screen).
If it’s just for the 1v1 multiplayer skirmish mode, I can’t imagine how crazy the single player campaign modes and other multiplayer modes like 2v2 and 3v3 would be.
i can do to suck in RTS games, but after seeing this game demo I’m ready to learn how to play them properly so I can relive my nostalgia for the Dawn of War series at the start of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. For PC via September 16, 2026 Steam.
