A Gemini app that makes it easy to start "temporary conversations."

After submission last AugustGoogle could make the Gemini app’s Temporary chat feature more prominent.

Currently, you start a Temporary Chat by opening the navigation box and tapping the dotted icon next to New Chat.

Gemini is experimenting with a design that appears directly on the home page to the left of your profile avatar. The same chat icon is used, but it is now larger and reduces the circle. When selected, there is a blue highlight for added emphasis.

This change applies to both the mobile app and the website. On Android, this change helps clean up the navigation drawer, which has enough space on the home page.

Temporary chats do not appear in your history or Gemini Apps Activity. Chats are “not used to train models or customize your experience,” and that’s important Past conversations and Personal intelligence to see wider availability.

The new posting for ad hoc chat is showing up on just two of our Gemini accounts today. It is not yet widespread.
