Screen capture redesign
After you tap on the Quick Settings Tile, you get a new floating pill for Start or make changes like Full screen or Single app. Options include:
- Full screen: Record device sound, Record microphone, Show touches
- Single app: Recording app, Record device sound, Record microphone
Once recorded, you can tap the status bar indicator to bring up the floating UI and make changes by tapping the settings gear or the Stop button. When you’re done, you’ll be taken to a new interface that lets you preview the clip to “Edit,” “Delete,” or “Share.” Tapping “New” takes you back to the tool.

Separate Wi-Fi and Mobile data QS links
Android once again has separate Quick Settings for Wi-Fi and Mobile data. If you have a current Internet tile set, it will be Wi-Fi and you can manually add Mobile data.

App lock and Bubbles
A long press on an app will reveal the new App lock and Bubble options, the latter of which was officially announced as part of Android 17 Beta 2 last month. It is fully active as of today’s Canary.
As part of these two additions, Google has redesigned the menu that appears when you long-press an app. If an app has 2-4 app shortcuts, they will be hidden in the new “Shortcuts” menu. Tapping the new extension button will minimize “Activities”. Only programs with a shortcut are protected.
