Many actors have a project or two on their resume that they feel they can never avoid being asked about. For Oscar Isaac (although there are a couple who could fill his role), probably will X-Men: Apocalypse for a very long time. It’s a shame, because what he gets out of this movie sounds like escaping the heat in a tent.
Isaac was this week’s guest Hot onesof course, where—perhaps thematically appropriate—he was once again asked to open his time the X-Men flop. The thing is, Isaac didn’t have much a time.
“One of the biggest reasons I did this job was, ‘Fassbender? Jennifer Lawrence? McAvoy? All these amazing actors. Yes!’ I said,” Isaac explained. “And then I didn’t see any because I was so hot. And, for example, I could not turn. That’s why I put me in this cooling tent.”
“Sometimes someone comes up (pats him on the back) and says, ‘Hey, Oscar.’ I said “Huh?” When I turned around, they were gone. So it was very difficult. But I am grateful for the cooling tent.”
Still, this isn’t the first time Isaac has been asked to answer for the sins of Apocalypse, both the character and the film. As recently as 2018, just two years after the film’s release, Ishaq called the film “difficult” to work on due to the sheer number of prosthetic effects.
“When I said yes, I didn’t know it was going to happen,” Isaac said GQ time. “That I’d be wrapped in glue and latex and a 40-pound suit—that I’d have to wear refrigeration gear all the time. I could never shake my head.”
So maybe we can all stop asking Oscar Isaac to relive his sweaty X-periment, because again: apparently, a lot of it was being in a tent. At least we have Moon knight for disturb him instead?
