Android 17 has been out for a few weeks now, and Samsung continues to work on its version for Galaxy phones.
Early this morning (July 14) SamMobile It saw the Korean OEM rolling out the next version of Android 17 beta. A UI 9 Beta 4 rolling out for Galaxy S26 series; however, the publication states that it was discovered only in India. The patch is ~1.25 GB and carries the July 2026 security update for the S26 series. So far, Samsung seems to be more focused on fixing a number of issues that its current flagship series is experiencing.
One problem affects the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung says it’s working on a fix for its Privacy Screen software. When this mode is running, the changelog reports that it “doesn’t work normally” when users turn it on/off in Quick Panel or Settings. Another problem hindered Galaxy S26 players.
It says that the navigation bar will disappear “under certain conditions” during gameplay. This should be fixed along with the Bluetooth issue. Samsung says an issue that breaks “Bluetooth audio media volume” when connected to a car should be fixed in Beta 4.
Also included are the following fixes:
- Fixed timer notification numbers being cut off or Ul being unstable in Live notification
- Improved Ul performance issues when opening and closing the Quick Panel
- Fixed an issue where the clock size would appear abnormal when rotating the lock screen horizontally/vertically
One UI 9 launching soon?
Android Central’s Take
Like Google, Samsung has accelerated development for One UI 9 (Android 17). I hope we don’t run into any major issues that significantly delay this update. We all remember the trials and tribulations we went through for One UI 8.5 on previous generation phones. It’s been unpacked and I’m hoping to hear something about its next major OS.
Samsung is compatible with its beta version, releasing updates for it at about a monthly rate. It’s the middle of June When we get beta 3its size was also more than one gigabyte. The patch was available early in several foreign regions, as we got with Beta 4. However, this must begin to change. Nevertheless, Beta 3 brought several fixes, such as solving the reloading problem that plagued the S26 series during video streaming.
Focus accuracy at 30x zoom is included, as well as a white screen during calls.
Samsung’s the next wave of products is on the way, and there’s a chance that One UI 9 is on the horizon as well. We’re expecting the usual suspects: the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and the Fold 8. Along with Samsung’s new smartwatches, there’s also hype surrounding the Wide Fold 8, which we’ll see at Unpacked this summer.
