The Oppo Find N6 is the new king of foldables, so who's following?

Foldable devices have matured a lot since their debut less than a decade ago, and after last year’s big leap with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, there’s now a new king in the Oppo Find N6, but I’m not sure the market will follow that lead fast enough.

From the beginning, foldable gaming has been focused on overcoming the shortcomings of each new generation. A slimmer design here, a better screen there, etc. At this point, most of the major issues, especially thickness, have been largely resolved, so this year’s focus has shifted to two areas.

Honor took the first step with a massive Battery in Magic V6And Oppo The Find N6 debuted recently with an amazing lack of a screen crease. Now that I’ve switched to the Find N6 as a daily driver, it’s even more impressive.

The screen has never been scratched indeed It bothered me and continues to be mostly a non-issue in my usual state Galaxy Z Fold 7. But Oppo has pulled off something that makes me question this position, because it’s really nice to have a screen like this, for the most partit is free from the central division.

Combine that with Oppo’s long-standing mastery of foldables and another impressively large 6,000mAh battery, and I think it’s safe to say that the Oppo Find N6 is the new king of foldables for now. The only thing that could stop me from giving it that crown is that Oppo doesn’t really want to for the second year now. sell this phone to those who want to buy it.

It still is indeed good.

But this makes me wonder, will anyone follow up in time?

The looming “threat” in the foldable world right now is Apple with the first foldable iPhone potentially only a few months away from launch. Apple has high standards for its releases, so you can expect that most of the hardware growing pains that Android brands have spent the past few years building aren’t issues at Apple’s initial unveiling. Plus, as our own Will Sattelberg points out last episode Side loadApple may have partnerships in the software department easily simply pull from the outstanding library of professional-grade apps available on iPad to position it as an even better creative device. This is something Android phones can’t compete with right now.

It’s more important than ever that these Android brands get the hardware right. Book-style foldables are better than ever, but Oppo has shown just how good it can be with today’s technology, and Samsung more than anyone else needs play your cards this year. In addition to Apple’s competition, the Razr Fold looks incredibly promising, with a bigger battery and solid hardware than what Samsung brings to the table, which is easily the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s weakest link.
