In my best Euphegenia Doubtfire voice, “Hello dear.” I miss Robin Williams. As a genius comedian, he could handle anything. It could make you happy, cry and most importantly laugh. Williams was a special talent who brought films to life with his chaotic energy. One of the films I hold close to my heart is his film Mrs. Doubtfire.
Daniel Hillard (Williams) is a struggling voice actor who comes to a screeching halt when his wife Miranda (Sally Field) wants a divorce. Miranda is awarded primary custody of their three children, much to Daniel’s dismay. Desperate to see her children, Daniel plays Euphegenia Doubtfire, a British nanny who “specialises in the education and entertainment of children”. Mrs. Doubtfire becomes an integral part of the children’s lives and even becomes closer to Miranda. This movie inspired so many that I couldn’t name them all. It’s a heat check for Williams, whose undeniable charm carries this beloved comedy.
