Based on a real-life Andes plane crash in 1972, the Spanish film tells the story of the Uruguayan rugby team’s flight crashing deep in the snow-covered mountains, leaving the survivors stranded for weeks in brutally freezing conditions. As supplies run low and hope fades, the group is forced to make some unthinkable decisions to survive.
The thriller was shot mainly in the Sierra Nevada of Spain and features some phenomenal cinematography. Although survival is the main element of the film, it emphasizes the tenderness and humanity of the party in the background of the disastrous situation, along with the grim reality. Snow Society got two Academy Award Nominees For Best International Feature Film and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

Good nurse It was interesting to watch at night, but it’s a thriller that has stayed with me for years. The crime drama tells the true story of Charles Cullen, a nurse and serial killer responsible for the deaths of dozens of patients in many hospitals in the United States. The film is based on Charles Graeber’s 2013 true crime book of the same name.
What’s interesting about the film is that instead of giving us Cullen’s perspective, the story takes place from the POV of Amy Loughren, a single mother and ICU nurse who plays a key role in Cullen’s confession and eventual conviction. As his new colleague begins to notice something strange about his patients, his suspicions grow over the course of the film. Good nurse it also does a good job of addressing another vital aspect of the case, hospital negligence.

It became the first Netflix film to be nominated for best cinematography – with Rachel Morrison becoming the first woman to be nominated in the category. It also earned two Golden Globe nominations

If you’re in the mood for a sports thriller and a true story, look no further NYAD. This biographical drama follows marathon swimmer Diana Nyad and her attempt to complete the seemingly impossible 110-mile swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage. The film takes place years after Nyad first gave up on the challenge.
An athlete in her sixties decides she wants one last shot at her record-breaking swim and sets her mind on an incredible goal. Along with her best friend and trainer, Bonnie Stoll, Nyad begins preparing for a physically grueling journey while facing dangerous weather, exhaustion, and many failed attempts. NYAD Both actors are directed by Annette Bening and Jodie Foster, who received Best Actress and Supporting Actress nominations at the 96th Academy Awards and 81st Golden Globe Awards, respectively.
