Remember when it was Castle Should the TV landscape change in 2023? i do Amazon has hired the Russo Brothers to help develop a globe-trotting spy show for Prime Video. Castle it cost $300 million to produce, making it one of the most expensive shows ever made. The show was supposed to launch several spin-offs in different countries.

Castle Season 1 came and went and didn’t make a significant impact on Prime Video and pop culture. Regardless, the show is back for a seven-episode second season starring Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra, Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville. Early reviews suggest that the new episodes are an improvement from season 1 and that Chopra is a standout. Even without strong reviews, it’s a fun enough action show to enjoy in a weekend.

Another Bennet Sister

A new look at Jane Austen

Where were you when Matthew Macfadyen’s Mr. Darcy told Elizabeth Bennet that Keira Knightley “bewitched her body and soul”? Pride and Prejudice? There are so many adaptations of Austen’s beloved novel that it’s hard to keep track. If you need a fresh interpretation of the material, Another Bennet Sister may be just what you need.

Based on the 2020 novel by Janice Hadlow, Another Bennet Sister Elizabeth’s titular sister follows Mary Bennet (Ella Bruccoleri). The first two episodes are described Pride and Prejudice through Elizabeth’s eyes before embarking on a journey to London to find love. It’s a refreshing story with a standout performance from Bruccoleri that acts as a treat for die-hard Austen fans.

Lord of the Flies

William Golding’s book comes to life

Like many of you, I had to study Lord of the Flies in my days before high school. Golding’s gritty coming-of-age novel follows a group of young men who survive a plane crash and take refuge on a deserted island. Without any adults, the boys are left to fend for themselves while trying to establish a sense of order and democracy. Peace quickly turns to rebellion as the boys slowly descend into madness.

I couldn’t think of a better writer to match Lord of the Flies more so than Jack Thorne, one of the geniuses behind it Netflix’s Adolescence. Thorne captures a boy’s loss of innocence on his difficult journey from childhood to young adulthood. From the same topics Adolescence goes inside Lord of the FliesA stunning adaptation that does Golding’s work justice.

All four episodes Lord of the Flies there is now streaming on Netflix.
