Microsoft highlights fan voting site as Xbox VP urges gamers to choose which classic games to bring back via backwards compatibility.
Whether backwards compatibility is worth the effort is still a hot topic. Some argue that it isn’t used as much as people think, and I call those people nuts.
Xbox remains one of the most consumer-friendly platforms out there, honoring a library that stretches back to 2001. The level of fidelity to older titles is something you can’t get anywhere else.
Earlier this yearXbox has confirmed that its backwards compatibility efforts will return. Next Generation Vice President Jason Ronald said, “we’re committed to keeping games from all four generations of Xbox playable for years to come. As part of our 25th anniversary later this year, we’ll be introducing new ways to play some of the most popular games from our past..”

It wasn’t clear what that actually meant, or at least it was to me. Pointed to add more games, support Project Helixor wider compatibility on PC?
Now, it looks like Jason Ronald may have given a clearer hint that more titles are on the way, though I’d still take that with a grain of salt; you never really know.

In that post, Ronald also links to XboxGamePreservation.com, a community-driven website where fans can vote for the game they’d like to see return through Xbox’s backwards compatibility efforts.
We’ve covered the site beforebut seeing someone actively refer people to it on Xbox is enough to get people a little excited.
