Sony’s $565m Bungie hit has me wondering what’s next — Destiny 2 feels strained and Marathon’s future suddenly looks fragile


I stopped checking Marathon’s Steam charts A week after release, not because I want to see the game fail or anything, but because I’m caught up in all the internet drama surrounding it. I’ve played the game myself and to be honest I didn’t like it so I was curious to see how long it would last. Well, thanks now we have some numbers Sony‘s earnings report last night.

For those who don’t know, PlayStation bought Bungie in 2022 for more than $3.6 billion As part of Sony’s infamous, and now largely failed, live service gaming push. This strategy gave us Games like Concordalong with many canceled projects after the initiative, it failed to produce the results Sony had hoped for.
