Fifty years is a long time for any hardware company to survive, let alone compete. Acer is officially hitting the half-century mark, and while we know the brand for its monitors and laptops, the company’s anniversary announcement hints at a very different future.
Alongside its 50th global anniversary, Acer is celebrating 34 years of operations in the Middle East. Instead of highlighting its history with just gaming and enterprise computing, the company is using the milestone to lay out a hardware roadmap that relies heavily on artificial intelligence.
Acer is specifically aligning its upcoming hardware strategies with the government’s key technology initiatives, such as the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence 2031 and the Saudi Vision 2030 National Strategy. Acer Middle East General Manager Michele Montecchio noted that these countries are making the necessary investments in the EU.
To meet this demand, the company plans to focus on developing AI-enabled devices and sustainable computing solutions for both everyday consumers and businesses.

The most surprising detail in the announcement is where Acer plans to go next. The company is actively trying to diversify its lineup by expanding into entirely new categories, including e-mobility, networking devices, and various accessories.
The anniversary falls on April 20, 2026, and while milestone announcements from tech companies tend to be self-congratulatory, Acer’s messaging here is largely forward-looking: AI-powered devices, continuous computing, and enterprise hardware aimed at markets that spend heavily on digital infrastructure.
