How much does Apple pay iPhone users?
Apple’s payout is $250 million, but legal fees and attorneys will take some of that up top. For iPhone users themselves, the charge is expected to be $25 per eligible device.
However, this number is not set in stone and depends on the exact number of claims submitted. If a more eligible user files a claim, the payout may be lower. If fewer claims are submitted, the maximum payment is $95 per eligible device.
How to submit your claim
Currently, there is nothing that eligible iPhone users need to do. Now, after receiving the official initial approval, the case can move to the next stage. As part of this, notices inviting submission of claims will be sent within 45 days of last week’s approval, i.e. no later than August 31, 2026.
To submit a claim, you must provide proof that you purchased the eligible device, such as a serial number. You’ll also need to provide your Apple Account information and phone number.
Verita Global, the Settlement Administrator behind the case, will set up a website where you can submit claim information. This is currently not available. We’ll be sure to update you when that happens.
Payment will take some time. The final approval hearing for payments (not just the terms of the deal) isn’t until September 29, 2027, and checks don’t go out for at least 60 days after that.
